    Note:
    ____
*The writing courses that these organizations offer have proved especially helpful to me, as I have taken excellent courses and lectures via the ones marked with an asterisk. As I have benefited tremendously from their programs, they come highly recommended, as a result!

  • Author Resources—Cognosco Media Website
    ____
A large and comprehensive website for authors—or authors-to-be!—with a vast array of articles written by a variety of writers, on topics ranging from publishing options, book proposals, self-publishing advice, editing, and the like; a great website for both the novice writer, as well as the seasoned writer, who wants to come back and review anything related to the writing and publishing industry!
    ____
[Thank you to Erica L. for sending along this suggestion!]

  • Copyright for Writers: Protecting Your Work
    ____
An article outlining the varying paths that writers and authors can take, in order to copyright and protect their work(s). [Thank you to Becca L. for sending along this suggestion!]
    ____
*[Note: It is generally not necessary to copyright one’s work, as once it is written and in the public domain, it automatically exists under the status of copyrighted. Should anyone copy the work, however, it would then be considered plagiarism.

Note that most professionally-based and/or traditional publishers and publishing houses do not need and/or request submissions with copyright markings.

However, if one does want to go the extra mile, particularly in terms of legalities, should a problem arise, then this is a possible step to take—although usually not a necessary one, to begin with.]
